A huge number of people have visited this site since the allegations concerning Jimmy Saville and Duncroft Approved School have hit the UK headlines. My book 'A Borrowed Anorak' contains no reference to these allegations though it does include my time in 1965 at Duncroft and there was definitely no JS visiting then. Shame I didn't include some revelations about the pop stars I met while hitching or even some made up salacious stories, perhaps then my sales would have benefitted from all these visits! Instead I wrote a terrific true story about social injustice and one young woman's amazing adventures in the fabulous 1960's. I also mention the horrific sexual abuse sytematically carried out on myself and many other 'virgin' girls through compulsory Venereal Disease checks that was authorised by the authorities for all girls in care - virgins or not! No-one wants to run that story either  - no celebrities involved!
Anyway hope some of you Duncroft/Saville visitors might enjoy reading true stories enough to consider sampling mine!
